Summary
MASG debates many items that concern schools in Monmouthshire. They concentrate their attention on matters that have been forwarded by school governing bodies that affect all (or groups of) schools, as opposed to matters of concern at individual school governing bodies. The following items have been discussed recently:

• Level of support received by pupils with medical needs
• CRB checks generally, and for governors
• Consultation on new and closing schools
• Budget issues – always!!
• Governor training
• School Meals
• School Trips
• Building Maintenance, and so on…

MASG provides representative governors on Monmouthshire’s Children and Young People’s Select Committee, Lifelong Learning and Leisure Health and Safety Forum and Travel Management Group. The Association benefits from the attendance of Mr Andrew Keep, Corporate Director of Lifelong Learning and Leisure at every meeting who conducts an Open Forum.
