Chapter 3
Page 4, Item B – How Governing Bodies are made up
Paragraph 2. First bullet point – Parent Governors – We have removed the following sentence “They must not be a member of the LA, nor be employed by the LA in connection with its functions as an LA, or be paid to work at the school for more than 500 hours per year”. And we have included “Please see paragraph 26 for further information”.

Chapter 4
Page 4, Item 4B – The Clerk to the Governing Body
Paragraph 3 states “The All Wales Centre for Governor Training has produced a training pack for clerks, which is available on the Governors’ Wales website”. This is incorrect and has been removed completely.

Chapter 7
Page 1, paragraph 7 states “ based in The University of Wales Swansea” – This has been removed and replaced with “See Para 22 for contact details”.

Chapter 16
Page 4, paragraph 18 – the first paragraph states “School governing bodies will particularly wish to note that in 2006…..” the last paragraph states “ The OFT wrote to governing bodies of schools in England and Wales urging them to end exclusive school uniform contracts and to make school uniform items readily available off the peg from a number of retail outlets. The OFT advised governing bodies that they could decide to take action should schools continue with exclusive agreements”.

This sentences have been removed and replaced with “The WAG encourages governing bodies to have regard to the wide availability of school uniform garments when considering their school uniform supplier arrangements”. “Outlets” have been removed and replaced with “arrangements”.

Chapter 17
Page 1, paragraph 2 has been completely removed and replaced with “The Welsh Assembly Government has produced 'Guidance for Governing Bodies on Charging for School Activities’. The guidance document provides a policy view from the Welsh Assembly Government and interpretation of the relevant law regarding charging for school activities. It is not legal advice however, nor is it a substitute for the reader seeking their own legal advice.
Page 6 inserted hyperlink to Guidance for Governing Bodies on Charging for School Activities.
