North Wales Regional Conference 2009

Governors Wales is holding a regional conference in North Wales on Thursday 5th November 2009. The venue for the conference is Venue Cymru in Llandudno.

The theme of the conference in The Effective Governing Body.

The conference aims to give school governors time to reflect on their role in leading school improvement and the latest information and thinking on a variety of subjects. There will also be opportunities to network with other governors from across North Wales to share knowledge and experience of effective school governance.

Governors Wales is fortunate to have secured respected guest speakers and facilitators who are prepared to give governors the benefit of their experience.

The conference will commence at 9.45a.m. concluding at 3.30p.m. In addition to presentations there will be a series of workshops of which governors may choose which one they would like to attend. Workshop sessions on the day include:

1. Managing Complaints Effectively
2. School Effectiveness Framework and School Effectiveness
3. The Estyn Inspection process
4. Child protection
